At Seattle Lighting Design, we take pride in both the design and
implementation of our work. We not only design the lighting
system, we also run the wire and fully install the lighting of your choice. As full-time electricians, we simply got tired of dealing with lighting plans designed by fat-cat architects who'd never even seen the house they're designing the lighting for! Then on top of that, when there's a problem getting the lights into their designed locations (because of a ceiling joist, heating/cooling duct, or some other kind of obstacle) we would end up having to redesign the lighting ourselves anyway. They were getting paid big money to provide a non-functional plan and wouldn't even come out to help find a solution. That kind of work isn't fair to the homeowners. We design and wire new construction, remodels, and additions. Our specialty is the kitchen area of your home because that is where good or bad lighting will stand out the most. It is considered the most lived in area of the home (discounting sleep hours) so we feel it is important to have lighting that is not only functional, but beautiful. Each kitchen is unique in many different ways. There's not only the placement of the sink and appliances, but the style, configuration, and color of the cabinets, color of the appliances, and color of the flooring in relation to the above colored items. There are islands and peninsula's that are an excellent location for artistic creation with lighting as well. The kitchen is an important part of every home and we want it to be a source of pride.
