MAIN INTERIOR LIGHTING

Main Interior Lighting is the bread and butter of our work and it's what we truly specialize in.  When we discuss interior lighting design here, we're typically speaking of recessed cans.  There are other types that we will design for, such as chandeliers, wall sconces, under-cabinet lights, puck lights, trac lights, monorail systems, and pendants.  Entry and dining chandeliers are not too difficult to design in that there's typically a best location for them to hang from (which we will help you determine), after which it will be entirely up to you which particular chandelier you would like hung there.  What we typically don't involve ourselves in is lamps and other movable lighting because it's simply up to the homeowner where and what kind of lamp they may want.  You don't need to pay us to tell you where you want a lamp.

A recessed can light is simply a housing that is recessed into a ceiling so that you don't see any kind of housing from inside the room.  There are many different trims (visible pieces) that work with recessed cans and several different factors may come into play when deciding on which trims you may want.

Many different companies manufacture recessed can lights and the trims that can be used with them.  We prefer to use Juno cans and trims as we have found them to be more universal and better built than most other brands we've used.  They also have a large assortment of decorative styles to fit your needs.

Juno cans are very easy for us to work with and rarely have issues.  They have cans available in both new construction and remodel styles, insulation and non-insulation rated, and all of these will accept the same trims.  There are 4", 5", and 6" applications so you can accommodate virtually any decor and/or style you choose.

When you call upon us to design your lighting system and/or wire your house, we will ask for as much information as you have available, and possibly some that you don't because you haven't come to final decisions.  At the bare minimum we will need a blueprint of the entire home.  Optimally, we will want the new kitchen design (if applicable), cabinet layout, and specifications of your new kitchen appliances.  We will need to know your budgetary concerns, style and taste preferences, and whether or not you've decided on particular lights already, or if you would like our suggestions.  All of these things are not required for us to get started, but the more information we have, the sooner you will see results.

With all of this information in hand, we will get busy designing a lighting system that will bring the true beauty of your home to the surface for all to see and appreciate.
