RESIDENTIAL LIGHTING

Residential lighting has two separate areas that needed to be treated individually; interior and exterior.

Interior lighting is everyone's primary concern.  There has to be light within your home for it to be functional. We have run into many lighting designs that provide very little light, even in the kitchen.  We create designs that not only provide an abundance of light, but add symmetry to all your rooms.  We feel that it's better to have more light than is needed and have a dimmer switch to tone it down to the desired light, than to not have enough light.  Without enough light, you're just stuck without enough light.

Exterior lighting is typically put on the back burner by most designers as more of an afterthought and necessity, than something to add functionality.  However, we feel that there are a lot of opportunities outside your home to add light and make your yard a friendlier environment to get around in the dark.  Exterior lighting can also provide added security to you and your loved ones, keeping the bad elements from looking at your house as a target.  We don't feel it's wise to treat the outside lighting of your home as an afterthought.

Both interior and exterior lighting have two distinct areas; main lighting and accent lighting.  Main lighting is purely for functionality, though it can also be very beautiful.  Accent lighting is designed solely to add an ambience to your home, create a mood, or provide a pleasant low-light environment.  Accent lighting is not for cooking in your kitchen or playing basketball in your backyard at night, but it is great for a candlelight dinner or a nighttime barbeque.

Whether we're designing a system for the inside or outside of your house, we will take great care in ensuring that we've provided a design that is not only functional, but pleasing to the eye.  Just how beautiful you want these areas to look will be completely up to you and your particular budget.
